GOODS DONATIONS


Goods such as clothing, furniture and household items given to The Family Life Center are always a needed resource and your generous donations help in our many outreach programs that assist the families and individuals that are in need in our community.

If you would like to help out this vital outreach program by donating your items, please read the following guidelines:

DONATION HOURS: Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. [Closed daily from 12:00—2:00 p.m. for lunch]

DONATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT: The Family Life Center; located at: 5513 IH 35 S., New Braunfels, TX 78132  {located at the back of Tree of Life Church’s property}

PLEASE — NO AFTER HOURS DONATIONS!!  IT IS AGAINST COUNTY ORDINANCES FOR YOU TO LEAVE YOUR DONATIONS OUTSIDE AFTER NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS.

CONDITION OF ITEMS:  All donated items should be in good, clean, wearable condition. Furniture should have no stains, rips or broken parts. Dishes should be washed. Clothing should be washed and in wearable condition. All other items should be clean, hygienic and in working condition.

PICK-UP’S/DELIVERY: Unfortunately, we are unable to assist with daily pick-ups. Please call to schedule a delivery within a two-week (2) time frame. This service is as an available courtesy and not a guaranteed service.

CLOTHING:  All donated clothing should be clean, washed and in good wearable condition.  Please note that due to hygienic concerns, we are unable to accept donations of undergarments, lingerie and swimwear. We reserve the right to refuse any donated items that are not in wearable, clean condition.

ITEMS THAT WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCEPT

  • General items that are dirty or in otherwise unwearable condition
  • Mattresses  / Bed Pillows (It is illegal for us to accept mattresses/bed pillows due to health and safety concerns)
  • Child safety seats / Booster Seats / Playpens or Yards / Cribs
  • Comforters / Linens / Textiles that have not been washed or are in otherwise unsanitary condition
  • Carpet Remnants / Building Supply Excess / Paint or Chemicals / Hardware / Tools
  • Wire or Plastic Hangers  [we do accept padded, satin hangers]
  • Broken Appliances / Kerosene or Gas Heaters
  • Encyclopedias / Magazines / Broken Books
  • Sporting Goods / Weapons


ITEMS THAT WE DO GRATEFULLY ACCEPT

  • Clothing  –  women’s, men’s, teens/children’s
  • Accessories  –  men’s and women’s, to include purses, wallets, belts, etc.
  • Jewelry  and Watches  [must be in working condition and not missing pieces/parts]
  • Footwear  –  women’s and men’s
  • Outerwear  –  hats/mittens/coats
  • Housewares  –  dishes / kitchen items and utensils / small appliances [in working condition] / pots & pans / bake-ware / cookware
  • Antiques and Collectibles
  • Home Décor and Accents
  • Domestics  –  curtains / linens / bedding sets / towels [must be clean, washed and  in useable condition]
  • Framed Art  –  paintings / prints / wall hangings
  • Furniture  –  dressers / tables / bed frames / sofas and love seats / etc.  [must be gently used and free from rips, stains and pet/smoke odors]
  • Area Rugs  [must be in good condition and free from stains and pet/smoke odors]
  • Seasonal Items  –  Christmas / Easter / Thanksgiving  [Christmas lights must be new in the box, please]


Extra large items will be accepted by approval. Please call the Family Life Center at: (830) 625-7100 if you have a concern about the item that you wish to donate.

The Family Life Center is a registered 501(c)3 organization. All donations are tax deductible and a receipt will be given for your records.
